Macomb County Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Seventh Grader

An eighth-grade teacher is accused of one of the biggest breaches a teacher can face. 

Tom Greenwood of The Detroit News reports that Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Robert Yaek, a science and math teacher at Armada Middle School,  with first-degree sexual misconduct and a number of other charges, for allegedly carrying on a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old female student between February and May.

The News reports that authorities allege that the sexual encounters occurred in a closet adjacent to Yaek’s classroom and at a rented house in Armada, which is in the north-central sector of Macomb County. He has resigned from his job.

Yaek is also charged with texting sexual photos of himself to the girl.
