The Emagine Palladium theater in Birmingham has eased up on a tough policy.

Shortly after the theater re-opened last month, it barred teens unless accompanied by adults. The American Civil Liberties Union denounced the restriction and called for an end to it.

Originally, teens wishing to come to the theater without an adult could enter with a $350 platinum membership.

Now teens can se films if a parent or a guardian knows they are there and accepts responsibility for their actions, Jennifer Bisram of WXYZ reports. They must bring a signed parental authorization agreement.
