Eminem could have been Matt Damon.
Yahoo News is reporting that Eminem was considered for the lead role in Elysium, a sci-fi directed by Neill Blomkamp.
But, hometown hero that he is, Eminem passed on the role because the movie couldn't be shot in Detroit.
According to Yahoo!, Matt Damon was approached for the lead role of De Costa after Eminem turned it down because production could not be moved to Michigan.
In the story, set in the year 2154, Earth is a crowded, chaotic, disease-ridden slum while the wealthy and privileged live in the orbiting city of Elysium. Elysium citizens have access to heath care unavailable to the desperate people below on Earth. When [protagnoist] De Costa finds he has cancer, he sets out to invade Elysium and liberate the advanced treatments for himself and those like him.
Eminem was last boostering in December of 2012, when he shot at music video in Detroit with 50 Cent.
