Four veteran Metro Detroit journalists are among new members of the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame.

Michigan State University's School of Journalism, main sponsor of the annual recognition program, announced these 2013 choices:

  • Hugh Grannum (above), a Detroit Free Press photographer for 37 years who died Jan. 11.
  • W. Kim Heron, Metro Times editor from 2006-12.
  • Nancy McCauley, a Fox 2 (WJBK) investigative reporter from 1975-2000.
  • Osama Siblani, founder of the Arab American News in Dearborn.
  • Betsy Pollard Rau, a journalism instructor at MSU since 1996.

An April 21 induction banquet ceremony will be held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on MSU's campus.
