Erica Raleigh has been named permanent director of Data Driven Detroit, the research organization that plays a wide role in city projects.
Sherri Welch reported the news in Crain's Detroit Business.
The Michigan Nonprofit Association and the advisory council for Data Driven Detroit have named acting Director Erica Raleigh as the next leader of the data center.
Raleigh, 31, has been acting director of Data Driven Detroit, a program of Michigan Nonprofit Association, since July 2013 when founding director Kurt Metzger retired.
Welch writes Raleigh has managed the day-to-day operations of Data Driven Detroit, including the Motor City Mapping Project in conjunction with Loveland Technologies and the Detroit Blight Removal Task Force.
In a Facebook post, Metzger, now the mayor of Pleasant Ridge, wrote:
"Erica was my second hire when I started the then-named Detroit Area Community Information System. She has been the 'heart and soul' of the operation ever since. I could not think of a better person to follow me and move D3 to greater heights."
