Evan Reed
Ex- Detroit Tigers pitcher Evan Reed was sentenced Friday in Wayne County Circuit Court to one year of probation and 120 hours of community service after pleading no contest to misdemeanor aggravated assault involving an encounter with a woman at a casino hotel, WDIV reports.
He was also ordered to pay $4,480 in restitution. Reed did not speak at his sentencing.
The charges stem from an encounter last year, the evening before opening day.
A woman says she met Reed that evening at a Royal Oak bar and they went to the Motor City Casino Hotel. The woman said she blacked out in bed with Reed. She claims she was drugged and Reed sexually assaulted her.
Reed has insisted the sex was consensual.
