Farmington Hills Man Convicted of Murdering Mom

It took less than three hours for an Oakland Circuit Court jury to convict a Farmington Hills man on Monday of murdering his mother.

Muhammad Altantawi, 20, who tried to make the 2018 death look like an accidental fall, was convicted in the death of his 35-year-old mother, Nada Huranieh, a physical fitness trainer, Mike Martindale of The Detroit News reports.

Prosecutors portrayed him as an angry teen mad at his mother for divorcing his father. He was 16 at the time of the murder.

He suffocated his parent before throwing her out a second-floor window of their home, authorities said.
