Detroit boosters love it when a new restaurant opens in the city. But the restaurant business is a tough one, and not all of them make it.

Whitney Filloon of Eater Detroit reports that Fatburger on Woodward Avenue in Midtown has shut down for the second time since opening at the end of 2013.

Eater Detroit reported that in May the joint temporarily closed its doors after a sign on the door said the franchise owner owed the landlord $17,000.

Now, Eater reports Fatburger is closed again, with a sign on the door indicating that the franchisee now owes a much larger sum of money.

The website reports  that the store will reportedly be taken over by a new local franchisee.

Local Yelp reviewers certainly don't seem too fond of it, with many complaining of prices that are much too high for a simple burger-and-fries meal. A previous Southfield location of Fatburger shuttered back in 2011.
