Update, 3:45 p.m. Friday:  A FBI task force raid Thursday night in Dearborn is not about a planned terror attack or explosives or anyone locally, the Free Press reports.

The paper, citing a "source familiar with the operation," says the search appears to have nothing to do with Metro Detroit or the young adult man living at the site.

He wasn't home during when agents came and no charges are imminent, the source says. It's unknown if that person has been detained by authorities.

Original post, Thursday night:

A federal task force raided a home in Dearborn Thursday night in what authorities describe as an operation involving national security.

"FBI personnel are on scene conducting a law enforcement operation. There is no threat to public safety," FBI spokesman Tim Wiley said in a statement.

The Jonathon Street search is tied to an incident in another state, Tresa Baldas of the Detroit Free Press reports. Authorities were tracking down people of interest to the Detroit area, according to the Freep and a law enforcement source who spoke to Deadline Detroit.

The term national security is broad. Additional details are expected Friday morning.
