reviews on Yelp you might wonder if the Golden Corral in Westland can really afford to discriminate against anyone.

WWJ radio reports that the federal government is suing the restaurant for allegedly denying a Garden City mother and her children service based on the children’s genetic skin disorder.

WWJ reports that the lawsuit alleges that the restaurant manager demanded that Danielle Duford and her four daughters leave after customers complained after noticing her  14-month-old daughter's skin condition.

The station wrote on its website:

In the suit, the Duford said the manager approached their table and asked what was wrong with her child, declaring, “she has scabs all over, so obviously there is something wrong with her.”

Duford said she then explained to the manager that three of her children suffer from epidermolysis bullosa, a genetic condition that causes the skin to be so fragile that the slightest friction or temperature change can cause severe blistering.

She explained that the condition was not contagious.

And about those reviews,  Damon L. of Belleville writes of the food:

It has to be the most processed, bland concoctions I have tasted. At least some buffets have an item of flavor - not Golden Corral. Especially if you dabble in anything Italian or Mexican. You will think it is enhanced baby food.
