Finley: Mayor Should Consider This Council Member As Police Chief

Detroit News' editorial page editor Nolan Finley has two words for the city's mayor: Gary Brown.

The mayor may be overlooking a terrific [police chief] candidate already in Detroit, and, in fact, already sitting in City Hall.

Councilman Gary Brown told me last week he would seriously consider accepting the police chief's position, left vacant by the resignation of Ralph Godbee amid a sex scandal.
