Five Michiganians were among seven people who died in a aboard  a civilian cargo aircraft that crashed at Bagram Air Field, north of the Afghan capital, shortly after takeoff Monday, the Detroit News reported.

The names of the deceased were not immediately released.

The News reported that the plane --  a National Airlines Boeing 747-400 --  was carrying vehicles aboard intended for Dubai.

The dead lncluded four pilots, two mechanics and a load master, who reviews if the cargo weight is appropriate for the aircraft, the News reported.
