In the midst of crisis this message surfaced.

The Flint water crisis may be getting a little less attention these days, but the problem hasn't gone away, and neither have other issues that have long plagued the impoverished city.
With that in mind, ten foundations have collectively pledged to give almost $125 million to help the the city cope with health challenges, lagging economic development and implementing consistent early childhood education, according to Crain's Detroit Business coverage by Marti Benendetti.
The Initial supporters and their donations are:
- Charles Stewart Mott Foundation: Up to $50 million over the first year and up to $100 million total over five years
- FlintNOW Foundation: $10 million
- W.K. Kellogg Foundation: Up to $5 million
- The Kresge Foundation: Up to $2.5 million
- Carnegie Corporation of New York: $1 million
- Ford Foundation: $1 million
- The Hagerman Foundation: $1 million in first year
- Robert Wood Johnson Foundation: $1 million
- Ruth Mott Foundation: $1 million
- Skillman Foundation: $500,000 to start with potential for an additional $1.5 million over the next three years
