Football Veteran Lomas Brown Grows in His Rookie Role on Radio

Former Detroit Lions left tackle Lomas Brown is growing in his rookie role as color commentator for the Lions games on WJR.

He tells Bill Shea of Crain's Detroit Business:

• "It was a lot of pressure, but now I feel so much more comfortable. I know how to look at the field a lot better, at the whole field instead of just the line of scrimmage."
• "By Saturday, I'm just trying to think about what I'm going to say on Sunday. Just try to run Sunday through my head. I try to do everything like I used to do when I played football."

He credits play-by-play announcer Dan Miller for helping him improve.

"It's been great. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have the confidence to do this. How he sets me up, he makes it so easy for me. He gave me so many tips to use."
