Detroit police officers were not so safe in their downtown headquarters. Busted pipes and no heat caused the building to be shut down.

The building at 1300 Beaubien was filled with water and smelled like mold, according to WXYZ 7. Their footage shows crumbling ceilings, leaky elevators and broken toilets.

The building was already on the way. A full move to the new headquarters next to the MGM Grand was expected in the next couple months. It is uncertain if officers will return to work at 1300 Beaubien at all, but evidence and supplies will need to be removed from the building.

The Albert Kahn-designed building has been home to Detroit police officers since 1923.
