Trash talk is on in Chitown, or maybe it's just a restaurant's cheesy publicity ploy.
Either way, the result is provocative. "Wait just a minute!" shouts a headline on WXYZ's news site above a report that on its Facebook page Wednesday, Club Largo Restaurant in Chicago "posted a photo of a Red Wings jersey being used as a doormat," with this comment:
"Welcome in to Club Lago Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge, please wipe your feet and make yourself at home."
Among more than 70 comments on the restaurant's page are criticisms that say "how tacky," "poor sportsmanship" and "for shame."
WXYZ anchor Stephen Clark posts "That ain't right!" with the photo on his Facebook page.
The first Wings-Blackhawks playoff game was Wednesday night in Chicago.
And oh yes, the smart-aleck restaurant is on . . . wait for it . . . Superior Street.
