Anchor Alan Lee, who has been hosting Fox 2's Morning Show since 1996, is calling it quits.
On Tuesday, he announced that he was leaving during the morning show while sitting on the anchor desk with co-host Anqunette Jamison. His last day is July 31.
Lee told viewers that he plans to continue pursuing his lifelong dream of being a novel writer. His first one, "Sandstorm," was published in 2013.
He said it was a very tough decision and he wanted to thank management for "its earnest efforts" to keep him at the station.
He first co-hosted the morning show 18 years ago with Sherry Margolis.
