Fox2 reporter Al Allen, who was one of the genuinely nice guys in the Detroit media, is calling it quits.

The guy with the repetitive name,  who was a longtime morning reporter for Fox2, is giving up the biz on Dec. 7.

"I was in radio for 16, 17 years prior to coming to FOX 2," he said according to a story posted on the station's website. "This has been almost 50 years I've been doing this."

"No more overpasses. No more hats, scarves and gloves. No more snow when the freeways are all messed up," Allen said. "I'll just sit home and watch TV and it's warm and drink my tea and be happy."
