Frankie Darcell, who was let go by Clear Channel late last year, will return to the the airwaves of her former station, Mix 92.3. However, her new drive-time show will originate in Philadelphia.

Freep: But when Darcell launches her return to the Detroit airwaves on March 4, she’ll be doing it as the new afternoon-drive host on Philadelphia’s WDAS-FM.

The show will be simulcast on the Detroit station. 

Darcell was let go in December, to the consternation of loyal fans. She grabbed headlines in 2008 when, thanks to a close relationship with Kwame Kilpatrick that included emceeing his second inaugural and other official events, scored an exclusive and (to put it mildly) friendly interview with Detroit's then-mayor in the midst of the scandal that ultimately forced his resignation.
