Fraser Mayor and Councilman Booted for Sexual Harassment

After the Fraser Council conducted its own trial Monday night, members voted to fire Mayor Joe Nichols and Councilman Matt Hemelberg for sexual harassment.

The vote was 4-1 for Nichols and 3-2 for the councilman, Dave Spencer of Fox 2 reports.

"It was a kangaroo court," Nichols says. "The reality in there is we didn't get due process.  The judge noted any other time, the objections would have been sustained."

Both vow a court fight for their jobs.

Five witnesses testified and delivered allegations of verbal sexual harassment and inappropriate shoulder rubbing and hugging.
