A Detroit Free Press editorial says it sounds rather cliche-like to say Detroit is a tale of two cities. Nonetheless, it says that's an apt description.
It points to the rising homicide rate (there were at least 379 murdered) in 2012. And let's not forget, as of Nov. 16, 1,121 had been shot and wounded, the Free points out.
The Freep writes:
Detroit tops Forbes magazine's list of most dangerous cities. But the city also ranks fourth on Business Insider's list of cities with the best job growth, a distinction largely driven by tech industry jobs.
