It's festival time and Elissa Robinson of the Detroit Free Press compiles a list of spring and summer food events around the state, including the Upper Peninsula:

3. Cereal Festival -- Battle Creek, June 10-11
4. Strawberry Festival -- Belleville, June 17-19
5. National Cherry Festival -- Traverse City, July 2-9
6. Michigan Summer Beer Fest -- Ypsilanti, July 22-23
7. Ribfest Kalamazoo -- Kalamazoo, Aug. 4-6
8. Fish Sandwich Festival -- Bay Port, Aug. 5-7
9. National Blueberry Festival -- South Haven, Aug. 11-14
10. Fungus Festival -- Crystal Falls, Aug. 12-14
11. Fudge Festival -- Mackinac Island, Aug. 19-21
12. Cheeseburger in Caseville -- Caseville, Aug. 14-23
13. Peach Festival -- Romeo, Sept. 1-5
