The first Dream Cruise along Woodward Avenue took place on Aug. 19, 1995. Ever since, the tradition has held steady.
In fact, part of the tradition now includes cars cruising up and down Woodward weeks beforehand, with people turning the street into their personal front porch with lounge chairs, refreshments, and idle chat.
