On a cold snowy Thursday night in downtown Detroit, hundreds of protestors chanted outside of the Fox Theatre before the start of the Republican presidential debate.

There were folks chanting about Gov. Rick Snyder, Flint, Black Lives Matter and Trump. One woman repeatedly screamed at the top of her lungs, "Republicans suck."

Still, all relatively orderly as people in dress attire lined up in the 27-degree temperature to get in and watch what was expected to be a slug fest.

The media was everywhere, doing standup reports across the street, in the Fox and inside the Hockeytown Cafe, camped out with computers and cameras and surrounded by TV screens with political chatter.
