After a very disappointing season, it seemed like a good possibility.

Now that possibility has apparently turned into a reality.

CBSSports.com reports that the Tigers are trading high-priced first baseman Prince Fielder to the Texas Rangers for second baseman Ian Kinsler.

The news site reports that the trade is contingent on physicals.

Fielder, 29, hit .279 with 25 home runs and 106 RBIs last season, ESPN reported. Fielder had siged up with the Tigers for  a nine-year, $214 million contract. Kinsler, 31, hit .277 with 13 home runs and 72 RBIs last season with Texas, ESPN reported.

It's now likely that Miguel Cabrera will return to first base. -- Allan Lengel
