Good News, Apartment Hunters: Metro Detroit Sees 175% Jump in New Units

Here's good news for prospective tenants: About 1,600 new rental units are expected to become available in Metro Detroit market this year, according to RentCafe.

The projected total of new apartments, lofts and townhouses is up from 587 last year, according to Robin Runyan of Curbed Detroit.

Of this year's total, 785 of the units will be in Detroit. 

Nationwide, 346,310 new apartments units are coming online this year. That's a 20-year high.
