Midtown Detroit will be getting some additional housing stock.

The city will announce at a Tuesday press conference details about a $28 million project to redevelop the historic Strathmore Hotel at 70 Alexandrine, between Cass and Woodward in Midtown. The plan is to convert the vacant building, constructed in 1929, into 129 units of market rate and affordable housing.

Midtown Detroit, Inc. and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will be joined by partners of the public-private partnership at the 10 a.m. conference at the Strathmore Hotel.
