In a year-end interview with WKAR in East Lansing, Gov. Rick Snyder dodges a lot of questions on issues like gun legislation and voter IDs, but not when it comes to Donald Trump.

On Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S., Snyder tells Lansing correspondent Tim Skubick: "That’s just absolutely inappropriate."

Later, he tells Skubick that "several" candidates have asked for his endorsement, but he declined to name any.  He has yet to endorse anyone, but we can assume Trump won't  be his guy.

Skubick asks: "Would you be comfortable with a Donald Trump presidency?"

"Well, I’m not going to create speculation on whether I never would or never wouldn’t. But as a practical matter, I have serious issues with his comments."

"What he said, banning Muslims to come into our country is absolutely inappropriate.  Some of his earlier comments, comments on Sen. McCain, some of his comments on women, other things. I mean they're real concerns."

Later, the governor's wife, Sue Snyder, joins the interview and is asked whether she has watched any of the debates, to which she says: "It's like a circus. "I just don't know what to think of any of them."

Asked about Trump, she says: "He's different."

She declines to elaborate.
