There's no debating that Gov. Rick Snyder and the state of Michigan need public relations help.
Snyder has hired two public relations firms to help his office with the Flint crisis, Jonathan Oosting of The Detroit News reports.
Mercury Public Affairs of Washington, D.C., and Bill Nowling of Finn Partners, a New York firm with offices in Detroit, are working for the governor, Chief of Staff Jarrod Agen confirmed Friday. Nowling was a spokesman for Snyder’s 2010 campaign and handled media relations for Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr.
Both firms say they're being paid from a private fund.
The first word in Mercury Public Affairs' name prompts News columnist Neal Rubin to quip on Facebook: "What, were Cyanide and Arsenic already taken?"
