In his waning days in office, Gov. Rick Snyder, who was wounded politically by the Flint water crisis, told The Detroit News editorial board on Friday:
"I’ll always have issues with Flint because it was a terrible thing to have happen.
"We had failures at all levels of government, but some of the people involved — particularly the so-called experts in water — made some bad calls in my view, and they worked for me. I did what I always think you should do and take responsibility for that, so that’s something that I won’t forget."
And he criticized the federal government, saying:
"Our national government is still negligent or delinquent in doing the right things for the rules for safe water."
