A grandmother has been charged in the Oakland County slaying on Nov. 23 of her son and 7-month-old granddaughter.
M.L. Elrick of Fox 2 reports that Sylvia Marie Majewska was arraigned Monday in the double murder of son Daryne Gailey, 29. and his daughter, 7-month-old Charley. Her son's throat was slashed and the baby had trauma to her head.
"For whatever reason she came to the conclusion the son and the child would be better off if they weren't alive," said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "Sadly."
Authorities believe a box cutter was used, Fox 2 reports.
