220px Jennifer GranholmJennifer Granholm, who has been out of public office since leaving the Michigan governor's office at the end of 2010, reportedly is being considered for federal energy secretary.

The Associated Press says she's among potential replacements for Steven Chu, who announced Friday he'll leave the president's cabinet at the end of this month. Other potential replacements include former North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan and former Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire, correspondent Matthew Daly reports.

The White House said no decision has been made.

The two-term former governor, who turns 54 Tuesday, hosted a politics discussion show called "The War Room" on Current TV from fall 2011 until shortly after Al-Jazeera bought the network in December.

Granholm was part of President Obama's transition team after his 2008 election and had been mentioned as a potential nominee for Supreme Court justice
