Cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn, owner of the Ferndale plant-based restaurant, Green Space on 9 Mile Road, continues to make it interesting for vegans. 

He's adding a list of comfort foods including loaded nachos with seitan chorizo and cashew sour cream; a shiitake Bac’n Cheezburger; an al pastor Cubano with pineapple-marinated jackfruit; and a three-bean Sloppy "Joel," writes Tom Perkins of Metro Times.  

The restaurant, which opened three years ago, also offers dairy-free milkshakes with flavors like pumpkin spice, chocolate raspberry and strawberry matcha. You can add booze.
