Raulie Casteel, 44, of Wixom

Raulie Casteel of Wixom could get life in prison for his conviction Wednesday on charges of terrorism and other crimes for shooting at vehicles along I-96 in October 2012.

Jurors found the 44-year-old guilty after two days of deliberation in Livingston County Circuit Court in Howell, Mike Martindale reports for The Detroit News.

Casteel . . .testified he shot at motorists whom he believed were part of a government conspiracy, was also convicted of assault with intent to commit murder and multiple firearms offenses in 24 incidents in which vehicles were randomly fired upon in Livingston and three other counties. . . .

While no one was physically injured, . . . the incidents sparked the creation of a multiagency task force of federal, state and local law enforcement officials. . . .

Jurors heard Casteel testify regarding his inner turmoil and “demons” experienced for more than two years.
