Five people were shot and wounded at a Sterling Heights party shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday,

after two people began arguing and fired shots at one another, police said.

The shooters, along with innocent bystanders, suffered gunshot wounds at the party in the 3000 block of 14 Mile Road.

When police arrived, they found four people suffering from gunshot wounds. A fifth person transported herself to a local hospital. All are in stable condition.

One person sustained significant injuries, and officers applied a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding, which likely saved that person’s life, police said in a press release.

The two suspects are currently in police custody at a local hospital, police said.
