Hamtramck Mayor Karen Majewski is troubled by the anti-Semitic graffiti she saw at a home, so she posts the photo and comment below on Facebook.
The vandalism occurred last summer and it appears someone tried to paint over it, reports Fox 2's Hillary Golston.
"It’s racist, and sad, no one should go through it," resident Leo Tufek tells the station.
Since the photo was posted on Facebook, people in the community have offered to paint over it and even organize events to support diversity.
"The response from the city overall has been overwhelmingly one of outrage but also one of support for a diverse city,” Majewski said.
