Today starts Deadline Detroit's sixth year.
It’s an honor to operate an online publication in a city we care so much about and to contribute to conversations about its evolution.
It hasn’t always been easy. But we’re still standing and enthusiastic about our mission to inform and entertain. We could begin reading off a list of people we need to thank, but to avoid sounding like the Academy Awards, we’ll skip that.
We do thank all the folks who’ve worked at Deadline Detroit and contributed since April 27, 2012.
Just as importantly, we’re grateful to loyal readers and good friends who support us and visit this site to keep up on the news.
It’s heartening to see readers’ passions via comments at our Facebook page, Twitter feed and the website. Some veer out of bounds, and we regret that. But many help contribute to a dialog and keep us honest when we miss the mark.
In an era where people are screaming about “fake news,” and the media and the First Amendment have come under attack by our president, it’s an honor to be part of the media and operate a publication.
Cheers. And thanks to all for your support.
