Detroit's top lawyer, Krystal Crittendon, must believe she's acting in the interest of Detroiters in her quest to overturn the consent agreement with the state to better manage city finances, Stephen Henderson writes..
But, he says, there's substantial evidence that she's dead wrong -- as a lawyer, and as a safeguard of the city charter, which is its constitution. And most important, she's almost certainly wrong as a representative of the city of Detroit.
Henderson argues her actions threaten the city's basic financial health, and even implicate its survival, which is contrary to what anyone who speaks on behalf of Detroiters ought to be doing.
