Louis Aguilar of the Detroit News reports that the wrecking ball will soon have its way with the former Hotel Charlevoix at the southwest corner of Elizabeth Street and Park Avenue in a popular night spot near the Fox Theater.
The 12-story building, which has been standing since 1905, could be gone by summer, the News reports. The building has been closed for more than two decades.
Some preservationist had been trying to save the building.
