Tatiana Duva-Rodriquez, 46, faces one count of reckless use, handling or discharge of a firearm, Fox 2 reports.

The gunfire occurred Oct. 6, when a man pushed a cart of stolen merchandise out of the store and got into into a dark-colored SUV.

The woman with the pistol tried helping out and fired at the car. No one was hit, but a tire may have been flattened, Fox 2 reports. No one was arrested at the time, but two Flint men were later arrested and charged in the theft.

Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper issued a statement Tuesday:

"If this is proven, I find it very disturbing that someone would take out their gun in a busy parking lot and shoot at the tires of a passing car. Once fired, the bullet could have easily ricocheted or fragmented and injured or killed someone else. It would have been much more helpful for her to take out her cellphone and shoot pictures of the shoplifter's license plate."
