Get Neighborly
Detroit's Neighborhood Day is Saturday, when neighborhoods around the city host community events. With hundreds of options to choose from, you can clean up, attend a potluck, go for a bike ride, or use that lawnmower with abandon. It probably beats mowing your own lawn.

Deadline is a fan of costumed fun runs. Belle Isle hosts another one Saturday morning called Muck Fest, full of mud and obstacle courses. If you're not up for the five-mile course, watching is just as entertaining and won't get your sneakers dirty.
All the info is here.

Bonus: Drink mead while someone else drives, learn the history of Willow Run before it disappears, a rubber stamp and paper arts festival, electronic music in New Center Park, and three new places to get grub: vegan food truck The Shimmy Shack in Farmington, Ottava Via in Corktown, and Motor City Wine's new location, also in Corktown.
