Deer Hunter Mistakenly Wounds Himself in St. Clair County

Here's one of the obvious dangers of hunting:

A 30-year-old hunter accidentally shot himself in the leg in St. Clair County on Sunday night, Mitch Hotts of The Macomb Daily writes  He was taken McLaren Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens. His condition isn't reported.

The victim was sitting in a blind in a field off Hessen Road near St. Clair Highway and Interstate 94 in Casco Township when the incident happened around 5:30 p.m., the paper reports.

Deer season began Sunday and ends Nov. 30.
