Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III
Stuart Dunnings III, Ingham County's elected prosecutor for nearly two decades, faces charges of hiring prostitutes and enticing another person to become a prostitute, the Lansing State Journal reports.
Dunnings, 63, allegedly paid to have sex with prostitutes hundreds of times from 2010-15.
The solicitation charges are misdemeanors, while the pandering count is a felony. The 15 counts are spread over three counties.
State Attorney General Bill Schuette announcing the charges Monday in a statement. They stem from a federal investigation into a human trafficking ring based in Michigan. Dunnings' brother, Lansing attorney Steven Dunnings, also faces charges of engaging a prostitute.
Dunnings was first elected prosecutor in November 1996.
