The Inkster cop who repeatedly beat on a motorist during a traffic stop is going to be fired, Fox 2 reports.
Robin Murdoch of Fox 2 reports officer Bill Melendez has been suspended for five days pending his firing.
In a written statement, Inkster city councilman Michael Canty said. "His employment with the city of Inkster has been terminated."
Michigan State Police are investigating the matter.
Defense attorney David Lee, who represented Melendez in a previous matter, offered no comment to Fox 2 because there are no criminal charges in the case.
