Is it inevitable that Michigan will join Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and the District of Columbia in making recreational marijuana use legal?
State Sen. Coleman A. Young II of Detroit hopes to make that happen. He has introduced legislation to legalize recreational use of marijuana in Michigan, reports John Hogan of WZZM.
The move will free up police to “focus on violent and property crimes," Young says. The bill would regulate and tax marijuana, generating revenue for education and other public purposes.
