Could Grosse Pointe have a "Miggy" in its future?
A company linked to Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera paid $3.2 million cash Monday for a gated estate across from Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe Farms, Robert Snell of The Detroit News reports:
The six-bedroom, seven-bath, 11,176-square-foot home along Lake Shore Road appears to be a perfect match for the notoriously private Cabrera, who also owns a home in Birmingham. The new house, known as Fox Hill, sits on two acres behind a gate and at the end of a driveway longer than the distance between home plate and the Green Monster at Fenway Park.
It’s unclear when, or if, Cabrera will move into the home. But he would be among the newest residents in a town known for auto barons and ballers named Dodge, Ford, Yzerman and Gibson.
“I think Miguel’s trying to remain a little bit private, so without talking to him, I can’t confirm or deny anything,” said John Cappeller Jr., an attorney for the company that purchased the home.
