Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano, whose administration has been under FBI investigation, and whose popularity has slipped significantly, has seen his fundraising plummet.

John Wisely of the Free Press writes that Ficano's fundraising dropped 96 percent in 2012 compared to the previous year. The drop raises renewed questions as to whether he'll bother running again.

A county official told Deadline Detroit last year that it was likely Ficano would not run, and that he wanted to at least finish out his term to save face in light of the county scandal that saw some of his appointees indicted.

Specifically, Ficano raised $18,800 last year compared to the $483,120, the Freep reported.
