The heavily amped promotional video for Detroit's X Games bid is finally here.

The footage features extreme sportsmen doing wheelies on the Lodge, cars speeding around Campus Martius and Belle Isle, chanting fans parading downtown and ariel footage of the city.

Detroit is one of 4 cities still being considered to host the 2014-2016 summer X Games competition organized by ESPN that includes skateboarding, inline skating, motocross, BMX biking, and rallycross.

As part of the bid process, Detroit bid organizers Kevin Krease, 27, and Garret Koehler, 26, teamed up with dowtown Detroit advertising agency, The Work, to produce a promtional video highlighting locales Detroit could offer the X Games.

“The video is meant to embody the ethos of our movement, which we believe is simply an expression of the things going on in the city of Detroit. People occupying and activating spaces in creative ways for constructive ends, and doing so with the sort of reckless abandon that underpins the action sports lifestyle. The X Games belong in Detroit, and we just tried to make a video that shows why,” said Koehler in a press release.

Detroit became a finalist city last week, along with Chicago, Austin, and Charlotte. ESPN said in a release that "Detroit has been the most vociferous in its desire to host the games, at least on social media."

The winning city will be announced in August.
