James, Ethan and Jennifer Crumbley

Eric Kimminau, who works with Jennifer Crumbley as a volunteer ski patrol member at Pine Knob, describes her as a loving mother and good parent who had talked about her son Ethan, the Oxford High shooter, getting bullied.
“I would say it had been more over the last four or five years that she’s made the comments about him being bullied and occurrences of him coming home from school crying," Kimminau tells the Detroit Free Press. He added, though, that "there is no excuse for anyone to ever do something like this."
Since the shooting, law enforcement officials have repeatedly said there was no evidence of bullying, the Freep reports. In a statement Thursday, the school district said: "We have no record on any level of any allegation of bullying against the alleged shooter."
Crumbley, 43, and her husband James are in the Oakland County Jail awaiting trial on charges of involuntary manslaughter in relation to the deadly shooting Nov. 30 at Oxford High School.
James Crumbley, 45, bought the 9mm Sig Sauer used four days later in the shooting as a Christmas present for their son, authorities say. Four students died.
The Freep also reports:
Jennifer Crumbley, who was known to ride horses in the area, once worked at a restaurant, then in real estate and marketing, while her husband moved through a number of sales jobs. Ethan Crumbley was a member of Oxford High's bowling team last school year, liked video games and worked recently as a dishwasher at the 5-1 Diner in town, according to interviews.
Nicole Ellsworth, owner of the diner, tells the publication that Ethan was quiet and never a problem.
"There was no indication he was this monster. Not at all.".
