Jet Blue Airways is coming to Detroit.

The airline announced Tuesday that it will begin flying out of Detroit Metro Airport next March with three, nonstop flights daily to Boston Logan Airport.

As a promotional sale, the airline said from now until Oct. 17, flights from Boston to Detroit are on sale for $85 one way. Travel dates for those tickets are next March 10 to May 22.

"This is a great day for Detroit, as we bring new competitive fares and award-winning service to the Motor City," JetBlue CEO Dave Barger, a Detroit native, said in a statement. "We wanted to bring more competition to the Boston-Detroit market, adding to the great baseball series between the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox, and last night's Detroit-Boston NHL game."
